And that day I went to the affluent Lido area in Beijing. Great area, they always have cool cars. I found four fantastic Porsche 911’s in less than ten minutes. Starting with a rare 977 911 Turbo S cabriolet.
It is painted in a cream kind of white, with matching wheels, and a dark brown top. Very beautiful car.
Our next 997 911 is a red Carrera 4, with matte gray alloys and matte gray detailing around the lights and in the bumper.
I met the owner and asked him about the plate. He said it stood for 9-super car-11!
The 997 Targa 4 is very rare in China. This incredible silver example was the very first one I had ever seen on Chinese roads. Great looking wheels, in the same color as the car, darkened windows, and a dark roof.
The 997 targa was not a ‘traditional’ targa with removable roof panels in the middle. It was really a different kind of convertible, with a glass roof and a hatch. When open, the roof slides a meter back underneath the hatch.
The only 991 911 of the four, a dark blue Carrera S. Interestingly, it has totally clear windows, whereas the vast majority of Porsches in China, or any expensive cars, come with darkened windows. The owner is this car clearly wants to be seen.
And why not..? It is a beautiful machine, with a dark blue top and a beige interior. Great wheels too! More great cars from Lido soon!
