A very classy Daewoo Super Salon Ace, seen on a car market in Beijing. The Super Saloon was not in a super shape. It looked a tad too sad and too bad, although not beyond salvation.

The Daewoo Super Salon was a high end variant of the more common Daewoo Prince. The Super Salon was made from 1991 until 1999. The Prince/Super Saloon was based on the ancient Opel Rekord E, which was made from 1977 until 1986 (!!!).
The interior looked okay, with the original fake wood panels and the original radio. Seat covers are a typical Chinese after market edition.
The Super Salon was powered by an Opel 2.0 petrol engine, good for 130 hp and 184 Nm. The engine was mated to a four-speed automatic, sending horses to the rear wheels.
The Daewoo brand was actually selling cars in China in period, including the Prince and the Super Salon. Price of the Prince started at 280.000 yuan, and the Super Salon at 300.000 yuan. Even today there are still quite a lot of them around, indicating the old Opel platform was as strong as an ox.
That’s a Super Salon, not a Saloon.
ACE was the highest trim level for the Super Salon, and therefore it rightly deserved a gold colored badge.
