The Ultra Odd Chery QQme On The Road

Earlier on I showed you another Chery QQme, but that was on a car show. This one however is totally real on the road, painted in pink with QQ-themed license plates.

The Chery QQme debuted in 2009 and was sold only until 2010. The QQme was just to weird for the market. It is still too weird for today. Unlike other older Chinese weirdo-cars it hasn’t reached any cult status yet. Should it?

The most interesting part of the design is this chromes line in the door. On the right side the indicator, barely holding on here with some tape. On the left side the door lock. That is just the lock, not the handle. The handle sits…

… in the B-pillar.

The rear lights looked very similar to the front lights. The sporty five spoke wheels and the darkened windows are factory standard.

Power came from a 1.3 liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 83 hp and 122 Nm, mated to a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic.

Price ranged from 65.000 to 69.000 yuan, and that was not exactly cheap. For just a little bit more you could have a four-door Volkswagen Jetta.

How wide this crease is! Hello Kitty matches the character of the QQme.

Another look at the front of the car.

I am actually starting to like it a bit. Checking checking. Here is a nice one of 2009 for just 19.000 yuan. Most of them are pink. Other colors are dark purple, light blue, and red.
