This is a Peugeot 206 CC, a coupe cabriolet variant of the Peugeot 206 hatchback. I met this little Frenchman in my very own compound in east Beijing.

Is is hiding behind the hedge..?
The Peugeot 206 CC was made from 2000 until 2008. It sold well in Europe where this kind of small convertibles are popular. Amazingly, it was officially marketed in China, from 2004 until 2007. Price started at 255.000 and ended at 295.000 yuan. There were two engines available: a 109 hp 1.6 and a 138 hp 2.0, both mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic.
The interior was in good shape but the seat did some heavy lifting.
The most notable design aspect of the 206 CC was its odd rear deck, shaped like a boat’s tail, with handlebars on each side. It isn’t pretty but it sure is special.
The 206 CC came with a sporty body kit, but they had to design a cut in it to let the pipe out.
The air vents on the bonnet are actually functional, they are open and let the hot air out of the engine compartment.
A 2004 photo of a Peugeot dealer in China, showing a 206 CC just like ours and a blue 307 CC. Yes, they sold that one as well!
