This has to be the best Toyota Crown Royal Saloon 3.0 Twin Cam 24 that I have ever seen, in China or elsewhere. The great Japanese sedan was in an incredible shape inside and out, and completely original.

The eight generation S130 Toyota Crown was manufactured from 1987 until 1995, in Nagoya, Japan.
The Royal Saloon 3.0 Twin Cam 24 was powered by a 24 valve 3.0 liter six-in-line with 204hp and 265nm, sending horses to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Top speed was a very decent 200 kilometers per hour.
The little white bulges on each side of the bonnet are external indicator tattle-tales, small warning lights that light up when the driver is using his indicator, see this brilliant explanation. Japanese car makers, including Toyota, Nissan, and Honda, used tattle-tales on their luxury sedans until the early 1990’s.
This beauty has its original wheels and all the badges. The only later addition the the exterior are the darkened windows.
The Crown badge on the C-pillar, with a golden crown in a silver frame.
The Crown badge on the wheels.
Seat covers are after-market, protecting the original cloth. Otherwise, totally clean again and it even has the original cassette player! Wood detailing was in good shape.
Center seat is covered as well, that’s a proper cover.
The 8th generation Toyota Crown was not officially sold in China, but many arrived in country via the gray market or other misty channels. The Chinese government also bought a lot of these for use by state owned companies and hotels. Many of those cars ended up as second hands on the private market.
The rear window was darkened as well, the owner likes his privacy.
License plate is of Hebei Province.
Badge in a very classy handwriting.
What a fantastic car. Let’s hope this great old Crown will stay on the road forever.
The licence plate is Helongjiang Provice,Qitaihe City (in the east part of this northernmost provice of China), to be more precisely.
Guess this is an official car of the local government, for the plate number is five digits without English letters, and it starts with doule zero. That’s why it stays in such good shape because a professional drive tend to it.
