A speedy Ferrari 458 Spider, seen in the Lido area in Beijing. The fast Italian is painted in white, and fitted with matte gray alloys and yellow brakes.

The Ferrari 458 Spider was made from 2011 until 2015. It was a very popular supercar in China. Price started at 3.88 million yuan. Lotta money, but lotta power. The screaming 4.5 liter V8 pooped out 570hp and 540nm. Top speed was 320 kilometers per hour, a full 20 less than the coupe. Acceleration however was the same 2.9 seconds.
When new the 458 was everywhere in Beijing, you would see one almost every day, especially in the central districts. But since the arrival of the 488 the 458 seems to be almost totally gone. It is a rare car now. I guess many buyers in Beijing have upgraded to a 488, selling their 458’s to buyers in second tier cities.
The interior of this car was a work of art, with red seats, red door trim, and red floor mats.
Even the fake belt heads are in style! Nobody likes to wear seat belts in China, and these smart little things fool the seat belt alarm. Yez, that’s all it takes to stop it from beeping…
The paint looks slightly faded, as if this Ferrari has been in the sun for too long. She needs a good waxing.
