A slightly overloaded blue JAC truck, seen on the eastern section of the mighty Fifth Ring Road in the Chinese capital Beijing. The truck is carrying all sorts of plastic stuff bound for recycling.
The bay is loaded to the top, with big sacks loaded on top of that. The sacks top out at some 1.5 meters above the lad bat’s top, and the extend over the sides by about 20 centimeters. The sacks are tied up with some flimsy looking ropes.
Stools, crates, buckets, more crates, pots, and other. Plastic things are so cheap in China that people throw them away easily. The cheapest stuff is of very low quality, so they brake easily too.
Transporting plastic in this way is officially forbidden in China, but in reality nobody really cares, especially not this far out of town. And recycling is for the good, right?
