This little red racer is a first generation Hyundai Coupe, seen on a car market in China. The sporty Korean was in a good shape, and completely original down to the wheels.

The interior was totally original too, with the period radio and the odd-looking clock in its silver colored housing above the aircon controls.
The first generation Hyundai Coupe was made from 1996 until 2001 with a facelift in 1999, our red car is a post-facelift example (RD2). FX was the top trim level. Power came from a 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol engine, good for 140 hp and 18- Nm. The engine was mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic with overdrive. The Coupe was front-wheel drive.
Sticker on the rear window.
Hyundai was a sponsor Official Partner of the 2002 football world cup in Korea and Japan. Brazil won, beating Germany by 2-0.
The first generation Hyundai Coupe was not officially sold in China, so it is a very rare car on the country’s roads. The second generation Hyundai Coupe was marketed in China, with sales starting in 2004.
The beautiful Hyundai Coupe badge, with Coupe in a very classy handwriting.
