A beautiful black Mercedes-Benz CL 55 AMG V8 Kompressor, seen at the FB City in Beijing. The big German coupe was in super shape, standing on the original wheels and dressed up with darkened windows.
The W215 Mercedes-Benz CL was made from 1996 until 2006. The CL 55 AMG Kompressor arrived in 2003. Power comes from a 5.5 liter supercharged V8 with 500 hp and 700 Nm, good for a 250 km/h top speed and a 0-100 in 4.8 seconds.
The W215 was not officially sold in China, but some arrived via the gray market or other misty channels. This window sticker was used in period by Mercedes-Benz in the United States. So we guess it was originally sold there, and arrived in China later in its life.
The interior looks perfect for its age. Leather and wood as new, original radio, no wear or tear.
Most distinctive design feature of the C215 was the razor-thin C-pillar, a brilliant piece of work that looks spectacular even today. The whole car has aged well, mixing elegance with power, looking surprisingly agile compared to its ship-like successors.
Subtle spoiler neatly integrated in the boot lid. For big pipes the get the dirty air out of the big badass V8.
Probably the best looking Mercedes-Benz coupe ever.
