A perfect R129 Mercedes-Benz SL500, painted in green, and with the hardtop on. The great German roadster was a bit dusty, but otherwise in a perfect shape.

The fourth generation R129 SL-Class  was made from 1989 until 2001, some 213.000 cars were built. The SL500 was powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine that pooped out 322hp and 469nm. This is a pre-facelift model, made from 1989 until 1995, easily recognizable by the front fender vents. Before 1995 they had 3 squared slots, after 1995 two rounded slots.

After-market alloys in SLR McLaren-style look great.

The R129 was not sold in China in period, but there are quite a lot of them around, mostly in SL500 trim. The successor of the R129, the R230, was the first SL that was officially marketed here. Note the red 206 CC in front of the Benz. Earlier on we saw a green example.
