A beautiful light blue Toyota Celica, seen parked on the pavement in the Sanlitun District in Beijing, with a fine on the passenger-side window. The good Ce’ was in a fine condition, but in need of some work and love.
The T180 fifth generation Toyota Celica was manufactured from 1989 until 1993. There was a coupe, a convertible and a lift back, which is the most famous of the three, likely because Toyota choose the liftback to compete in the Word Rally Championship.
Our blue beauty is the coupe version, which I think is the best looking of the lot. The alloys on this car are not original, but they go very well with the Celica.
The T180 Celica was available with 1.6, 2.0, 2.0 turbo and a 2.2. The most powerful engine was the 3S-GTE 2.0 liter turbo which pooped out 232hp and 270nm. I don’t know what hides under the bonnet here, but it does look like a very basic model, so it is likely a 1.6 or a 2.0.
License plates from Heilongjiang Province, up in the north east. The T180 was not officially marketed in China, no Celica ever was, but some examples arrived via diplomatic channels or other misty ways.

Heilongjiang not Liaoning.
Absolutely true. Thanks!
