All cars should be red! Proof: this pretty Mercedes-Benz CLK 280, seen on a car market in west Beijing.
The good Benz looks very classy, with a dark red color, shiny multispoke wheels, a shiny line around the windows, and slightly tinted windows.
The C209 Mercedes-Benz CLK hardtop coupe was manufactured from 2002 until 2010. The CLK 280 was powered by a 3.0 liter V6 petrol engine, good for 228 hp and 300 Nm.
A vert typical Mercedes-Benz interior for the time. Lots of gray, lots of dark. Boring to the extreme. The only ‘crazy’ thing is the panel around the gear lever. But even that is gray.
More life in the back with a yellow umbrella. I love those.
The C209 CLK was officially sold in China. Sales of the convertible (A209) started in 2004, and the coupe arrived two years later. Price of the CLK 280 model started at 750.000 yuan.
That was, and still is, a shipload of money for a mid-size coupe with just 228 horses. The other available models were the CLK200K and the CLK 350. Due to it’s high price, and due to the fact that coupes are in general not very popular in China, the C209 has become a very rare car.
Too bad, because I think it is a beauty. Especially in red.
