A bright orange Porsche Cayenne SUV, seen in the Wangjiang District in the endless capital of Beijing, China.
This orange beauty is a first generation pre-facelift example, made from 2002 until 2005. It is an ex-U.S. example, recognizable by the reflectors in front of the front wheel and by the narrow license plate areas.
The pre-facelift first generation Porsche Cayenne was not officially marketed in China. Sales on the Chinese market started in 2006 with the facelifted model. This particular car was the first-ever early Cayenne I had seen in China. I don’t think there are many more.
The interior was in good shape, with loads of beige leather and a slightly darker-beige interior trim.
The original Porsche Cayenne S was powered by a 4.5 liter V8 with 340 hp and 420 Nm. The engine was mated to a six-speed automatic, sending horses to all four wheels.
The incredible beautiful alloys.
This early Cayenne came just a few years too early for the Chinese automotive boom. These first generation pre-facelift cars are extremely rare down here. The later ones all over the place, in the big city centers you can’t turn a corner without seeing two. But that is now.
License plate is from Beijing city and reads ‘G0234’, a rather special combination. Plate looks a tad too new for the car, the original plate must have been much older.
Paint shows some damage around the front bumper. Otherwise, a great Porsche in Beijing!
