A wondrous white Volkswagen Sharan V6 MPV, seen in the east of Beijing, capital of China. The good Sharan was in a perfect shape and completely original, down to the wheels.
The Sharan V6 model came with cool V6 badges, with a racy red 6. The 2.8 liter V6 engine, actually a VR6, delivered 204 hp and 265 Nm. The engine was mated to a five-speed manual, or, as in this car, a four-speed automatic.
The first generation Volkswagen Sharan (Type 7M) was made from 1995 until 2010 with facelifts in 2000 and 2003. The car we have here is a 2004-2010 example. The 7M Sharan was officially sold in China as an import, with either a 1.8 turbo or the 2.8 V6.
The interior was in a fine shape too, but the leather looked a bit worn and both armrest had broken off.
The Sharan could be configured for six or seven seats. This one had only three (:.
The second V6 badge, this one on the back.
The car was clearly well taken care of, which is quite special for a not-too special car of this age. Perhaps the owner is a Sharan fan.
Sunset over the Sharan.
Until now, Volkswagen has never manufactured a large MPV in China. But that is going to change later this year when the new Volkswagen Viloran hits the market. The Viloran will be manufactured by SAIC-VW.
A great Volkswagen in China. Darkened windows go very well with white paint. May the owner remain a fan for a long time a coming.
