A gorgeous second-generation Chrysler Concorde sedan, seen in the Chinese capital Beijing in 2010. The gigantic American sedan was in a good general shape, with shiny paint, darkened rear windows, and factory original alloys.
The second generation Chrysler Concorde was made from 1998 until 2004. No matter its size and American heritage, it a front-wheel drive vehicle, powered by a 2.7, 3.3 or 3.5 liter V6 Engine. Packaging was a bit odd too. The Concorde, which by la way is a brilliant name for a car, was 5.118 meters long but wheelbase was only 2.870. This is mostly explained by the truly enormous rear overhang. The space from the rear axle to the rear end is large enough to fit a mediam-sized Volkswagen.
The second generation Chrysler Concorde was not officially sold in China but some examples arrived via diplomatic and other misty channels. I have ever only seen a handful of Concorde’s in China in the long 16 years that I lived there. The first generation Concorde is even rarer.
Eventually, the Chrysler Concorde was replaced with the Chrysler 300C. which was also manufactured in China. Even as the 300C was a rear-wheel drive car, based on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, it never had as much class as the Concorde.
