The Acura CDX debuted in 2016 and it was facelifted in 2021. Our car is a pre-facelift example. It is manufactured by GAC-Honda, and based on the Honda Vezel/XR-V. The Vezel is also produced by GAC-Honda. The CDX was developed to attract a younger audience to the Acura brand. It was also the first Acura that was produced in China, since followed by the GAC-Honda Acura RDX and TLX-L.
The Acura CDX is a fine looking vehicle but it ain’t not particularly exciting. The chrome strip that ends at the bottom of the third-side window, while you would expect it to continue further, is probably the most interesting part of the design.
The interior is dressed up with nice leather trim. The center tunnel design was outdated even in 2016 and looks hopelessly old fashioned today. The infotainment screen looks large but that is just a sneaky optical illusion created by Acura; the actual screen measures only 8 inch. The owner of this particular car added a set of neck pillows, this is very common in cars in China.
The CDX is available with two power trains: a 146 hp 2.0 hybrid and a 182 hp 1.5 turbo. Gearbox is an E-CVT, sending horses to the front wheels. For a short while, Acura also sold a top spec four-wheel driver version of the 1.5 turbo with an 8-speed DCT, but that model is no longer available.
Our blue car is a base spec 1.5 turbo. Price started at 229.800 yuan (2020), which was quite a lot for a relatively small car. Still, it proved popular enough and Honda recently added several sub-models, including a CDX A-Spec and a CDX Plus. The A-Spec model has the eight-speed DCT, but no four-wheel drive.

Guangqi is short for Guangzhou Qiche, Guangzhou Auto, in turn short for Guangzhou Auto Corporation, or GAC. Ouge is the Chinese name of Acura.
The front lights look pretty cool as well, with 8 LED lights on each side.
