A Porsche 911 GT3 4.0, seen at the Tuning Tribe tuning street in Beijing in 2019. The GT3 looked mightily fast in a light shade of blue with darkened windows. and fitted with black carbon wheels.
The side blades of the rear wing and the air ducts were painted in black too, making for a very fine contrast with the blue body.
The Porsche 991 911 GT3 was made from 2013 until 2019 with a major update in 2017, when the 4.0 liter motor arrived. This updated version is commonly called the 991.2.
Power came from a 4.0 liter flat-six engine. Output was 500 hp and 460 Nm. The engine was mated to a 7-speed ‘PDK’ DCT sending each and every horse to the rear wheels. Top speed was 318 kilometers per hour and 0-100 was done for in 3.4 seconds.
In the good old days the GT3 model was about lightness. Not anymore. The 991.2 came with luxury suede seats and even a large screen for infotainment. Price in China for the Porsche GT3 4.0 was a crazy 1.87 million yuan. And for all that money, Porsche gives you…
… blank switches.
Carbon wheels saved about 8 kilo, according to Porsche. Oddly, this car is fitted with steel brakes and not with the light carbon ceramic brakes. The red caliper looks fantastic.
Behind the Porsche stood a Ferrari 812 Superfast. More on that car in a later post.
