Porsche 991 911 Carrera Cabriolet Is A Speedy Blue Convertible In China

Porsche 991 911 Carrera Cabriolet

An almost too pretty Porsche 991 911 Carrera Cabriolet, seen in 2015 in the Lido area in Beijing. This area is, for reasons not entirely clear, loaded with Porsches. On that very same day I also met a 997 911 Targa and a 997 Carrera 4. The Cabriolet was painted in blue with a dark blue convertible top and light gray allow wheels. The entire interior was beige.

The AZ227 license plate makes the Porsche a bit cooler still. The 991 Porsche 911 was made from 2011 until 2019 with a facelift in 2015. Our blue car is a pre-facelift example. The 911 Carrera Cabriolet was powered by a 3.4 liter H6 engine, mated to a 7-speed manual or a 7-speed PDK. Output was  350 hp and 390 Nm.

In China, the manual wasn’t available. Everyone would have gone for the PDK anyway. Top speed was 287 kilometers per hour and 0-100 took 5.0 seconds. That’s a fast cabrio! And an expensive one. Price before options started at 1.43 million yuan. The 911 is quite common in China but the vast majority are coupes. The cabrio is relatively rare.
