A Porsche 997 911 Carrera 4, seen in the Lido area in Beijing back in 2015. The good 911 looked very classy, painted in a dark shade of red with darkened windows and large gray alloy wheels, and with gray winglets in the air intakes in the bumper. The 9SC11 license plate, with SC for supercar, is super cool.
The 997 Porsche 911 was made from 2004 until 2014 with a facelift in 2009. Our red car is a post-facelift example. This facelift was also called ‘Second phase’ or ‘Gen 2’.
The Carrera 4 model was powered by a 3.6 H6 with an output of 345 hp and 390 Nm. The motor was mated to a 7-speed PDK gearbox, sending horses to all four wheels. Top speed was 282 kilometers per hour and 0-100 was gone in 5 seconds. Price in China (2010) was 1.67 million yuan. The 997 Porsche 911 is not uncommon in China, especially in facelifted form, but I had never seen one in this classy color.
It was a bit of a Porsche day that day at Lido. On the same day I also saw a 997 Targa 4S and a 991 Carrera Cabriolet.
