A beautiful Jaguar X-Type 3.0 sedan, seen in the far east of Beijing in 2016. The Jaguar was in a great shape and looked fantastic in dark red with dark gray five-spoke alloys. The Jag’ was parked next to a white FAW-Toyota Crown.
Like every Jaguar of name, the X-Type had a the badass Jaguar hood ornament and an even more badass Jaguar badge on the grille.
The Jaguar X-Type was manufactured from 2001 until 2011. It was based on the Ford CDW27 platform that also underpinned the Ford Mondeo MKIII. It was designed to look like a baby XJ and that worked out pretty well.
The interior was typical Jaguar with comfortable white-beige leather seats and upholstery and pretty wood panels on the dashboard, center stack, and doors. The X was lavishly equipped with a trip computer, air conditioning, and a radio-CD system.
The badass Jaguar logo on the wheel hub on a bloody red background.
The Jaguar X-Type 3.0 model was powered by a 3.0 liter V6 petrol engine with an output of 231 hp and 280 Nm. The motor was mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic, as in this car, sending horses to all four wheels.
The Jaguar X-Type was officially sold in China as an import, available with the 2.5 liter V6 and the 3.0 V6. Price for the latter was 560.000 yuan. That was a lot of money for a relatively small car and sales in China were very slow, so these great eXes are pretty rare down here.
Note the special 4666 license plate on the Crown on the right side. Six is a lucky number in China and four is an unlucky number.
