Second Generation Chrysler Sebring Touring Is A Sweet American Convertible In China

Chrysler Sebring convertible

A Chysler Sebring Touring convertible, seen in the north of the Chinese capital Beijing in 2020. The pretty American cabriolet was in a very good shape, painted in dark red with a back top, a black grille, darkened windows, and a set of sporty after-market alloy wheels.

The third generation Chrysler Sebring was made from 2000 until 2006 with a facelift in 2004, this is a facelifted car. There was a sedan, a coupe, and a convertible. The latter was available with two gasoline engines; a 2.4 four and a 2.7 V6. Our red Beijing car has the V6 under the bonnet, it was mated to a four-speed automatic box, sending horses to the front wheels.

The interior was in a fantastic shape too, with dark brown leather seats that looked almost as new. The shiny trim bits were in great shape, and even the black plastics looked good. Note the interesting design of the hand brake lever, with a sort of swing in the middle.

The second generation Chrysler Sebring was not officially sold in China but quite a few examples arrived here via the gray market

The Sebring and Touring badges are not original. The were probably lost at some point in time and replaced by new lettering with a different font.

Touring was a trim level, and the top-trim level for the convertible.

The new wheels really do a lot of good to the overall looks of the Sebring convertible. It is, in any way, a great looking car and special car in China. Hopefully it is still around today.
