A rare Bentley Continental GT Coupe Design Series China, seen in central Beijing in 2014, parked neatly on the pavement. It was painted in a pretty kind of blue, matching nicely with mega shiny wheels and trim.
The Bentley Continental GT Design Series China arrived in 2010, in Coupe and Convertible forms. It was based on the first generation Continental GT. As the name implies, it was especially developed for the Chinese market. The Design Series China was intended to be a somewhat hipper Bentley, aimed at a younger audience.
Therefore, it was available with two new extra exterior colors exclusive for the series: Orange Flame and Magenta Metallic. However, our car is painted in a more standard shade. The 7-twin spoke alloys were unique for the Design Series China as well. There was a special badge on the front fender and several badges in the interior.
Power came from the 6.0 W12 twin-turbocharged engine, good for an output of 560 hp and 650 Nm. The motor was mated to a 6-speed automatic, sending horses to all four wheels.
Bentley only made 60 examples of the Bentley Continental GT Design Series China, 15 coupes and 15 convertibles. All this pretty and rarity had a price. The Coupe went for 4.68 million yuan and the Convertible for 4.88. Lot of money but lot of cool.
