A spicy-red Ferrari F430 Spider seen at a parking lot of a mall in the Dongzhimen area in Beijing in 2011. Customers of the nearby Spice Spirit restaurant could win a ride in the Ferrari if they won a lottery. The owner of the restaurant owned the car as well.
The Ferrari has cool Spice Spirit stickers on the doors. The car was beautifully finished with a black roof, gray win-spoke alloy wheels, and big red brake calipers.
Gray exhaust pipe tips match with gray alloys. The restaurant served spicy fish pot, a famous Chinese dish; basically a whole fish in a large pot furthermore filled with hot oil and a lot of chili and some veggies. I liked the place a lot and ate there many times, sadly, I never won the lottery.
The Ferrari F430 was powered by a 4.3 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine with an output of 490 hp and 465 Nm, good for 315 km/h and 0-100 in 4 seconds. Only gearbox option in China was the 6-speed ‘F1’ automated manual.
The Ferrari F430 was made from 2005 until 2009 in Coupe and Spider forms. Both were officially sold in China, which was quite special, as convertibles weren’t at all popular at the time. Price of the Spider started at 4.048 million yuan. That Spice Spirit place must have been a good business!
