What’s better than a pink Porsche on a hot summer day in China? Almost nothing indeed. I met this pretty Porsche Cayman in July 2015 at the Goldenport race track in northeast Beijing. It looked brilliant.
The good Porsche was wrapped in a shiny pink wrap, and further dressed up with darkened windows, black window frames, and gray five-spoke alloys. The high quality wrap was neatly wrapped around the entire car, and included the mirrors, bumpers, and the rear spoiler. Only the tiny lips under the front bumper were left in black.
The interior was left alone, bar for the beep-suppressing belt-head without belt in the safety belt buckle. The black leather seats looks slightly worn, an unusual sight in a Porsche. The owner drove it a lot, I guess, and that is a good thing.
So much pink that the black Mercedes on the right almost disappears.
The second generation 987 Porsche Cayman was manufactured from 2005 until 2012. Sales in China started in 2006. The base Cayman model was priced at 728.000 yuan and powered by a 2.7 liter H6 engine with an output of 245 hp and 273 Nm.
The letter Q stands for a company-owned car. The sequence L00UI is very special too, I haven’t seen many plates with a double-zero combination. Well, a great pink Porsche like this Cayman deserves a great plate, right?
