Look at this! A very speedy Volkswagen Jetta, seen somewhere in Hebei Province in 2011. The good Jetta was sexed up to the max with a VW windshield sticker, lowered suspension, an all-around body kit, modified bumpers & grille & headlights, with a partially black hood and darkened windows and extra wide tires with shiny sporty wheels.
That was not all. We continue: wind deflectors around the side windows, a rear wing, blacked-out lights, and a blue pipe.
The Volkswagen Jetta MK2 was made by FAW-Volkswagen from 1991 until 2013, when it was finally replaced by the all-new Jetta. The MK2 was an extremely popular car, loved for its fault-free character and pure basic transport functionalities.
Many early Jetta’s have survived until today (2022) and there is a fanatic fan-following crowd that keeps ‘m alive where and whenever they can. That’s not so easy now with China’s ever stricter emission regulations, but outside of the big cities these older Jetta’s are still a common sight.
