BYD F0 Is A Scion In China

BYD F0

A BYD F0 city car, seen at a Ford dealer in Beijing in 2013. The BYD was modified quite a bit. It was painted in a non-factory purple, and fitted with darkened windows, chromed mirrors, chromed door handles, and extra wide tires with sporty alloy wheels.

The BYD F0 hails from the time when BYD cloned Toyota’s. The F0 was a near-perfect clone of the first generation Toyota Aygo. They even had the exact same wheelbase (2340 millimeter)! So seeing a BYD with after-market Toyota badges. However, the owner of this F0 went instead for a Scion badge on the grille. Scion was a North American brand of Toyota that exited from 2003 until 2016, but Scion never sold an Aygo variant.  Mirrored in the hood you can see me  and a friendly security guard.

The interior was sexed up considerably with warm seat covers, a steering wheel cover, fake glitter, and a lot of cartoon figurines. We got Mario, the NBA, and an Angry Bird.

The rear with an after-marker wing and a very dark rear window. The BYD F0 was made from 2008 until 2015. It was powered by a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 66 hp and 90 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic. Price in 2013 started at 42.900 yuan. The Toyota Aygo has never been marketed in China.
