We relentlessly continue with our wrapped cars theme tonight. This here is a BMW X6 SUV-coupe, seen in 2013 in the Chinese capital Beijing. The Bimmer was wrapped in a matte black ‘carbon’ wrap and fitted with a badass after-market body kit. What, is not to love?
The wrap was of good quality and looked quite a bit like real carbon fiber. Nicely done indeed. Too bad the wrappers didn’t put the badge back in the right way after they were done wrapping. It should be 35i but they made it 5i3. “I drive a BMW X6 5i3”. What? Well, why not.
The alloy wheels are not standard either. They look rather pretty and match very well with the rest of the machine.
Note those folks in the background, they also thought the X6 was a funny car. Or perhaps they thought that I was funny..? Anyway. The body kit was quite extensive, with wide wheel arches, big new bumpers, vents all over, and an almost-too subtle rear spoiler. The job was finished with darkened windows and widow frames, gray roof rails, black BMW-dealer license plate frames, and four big ‘n round pipes. Great car.
The BMW X6 is imported into China. In 2013, price started at 1.06 million yuan. It was available as xDrive35i, like this car, xDrive40i, and xDrive50i. The 35i was powered by a turbocharged six-in-line with 306 hp and 400 Nm. Power it needs to drag all that body work around!
