Here at CoolCarsInChina, we love a good set of stickers on a motor vehicle. Today we have a black Peugeot 206 hatchback, seen in Beijing long ago. It has slightly tinted windows and it stands on standard factory wheels. Let’s have a look at the stickers:
This is the best one, for sure. “I’m a sex machine” in white letters with a male figure. The ladies will be impressed. It also has WRC stickers on the mirrors. WRC refers to the World Rally Championship, a sport for tough fellows. Peugeot has been in the championship many times, and they won a lot, but not with the China-made 206.
The Peugeot 206 was manufactured in China by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture. Production started in 2005 and ended in 2008. In 2009, the joint venture launched an updated variant of the 206, which was called the 207. This Chinese 207 had no relation to the European 207. They also launched a sedan and a Citroen variant called the C2 (T21). This Chinese C2 had no relation to the European C2. The Chinese-French joint venture went its own way.
More stickers: Brembo (brakes), Sparco (part and accessories), A’pexi (aftermarket performance products), Momo (steering wheels), OZ Racing (alloy wheels), HKS (aftermarket performance products), Alpine (car stereo), Dolby Stereo (a sound format), and Bluetooth (a short-range wireless technology standard). These kinds of stickers were available at any car shop or market for a few yuan each. The owner of this Peugeot only bought white stickers for maximum visibility on his black car.
With one exception! A red dog-pig sticker on the window. The Olive Oyl seat covers and pillows are nice as well. There is another cartoon figure on the door, looks like an angry mouse of sorts. The stickers on the rear door are the same as on the front door. With one addition: Motors Mitsubishi. I assume that should be Mitsubishi Motors (a Japanese car maker).
There was an HKS sticker on the hood and a collection of hats behind the windscreen. The car was otherwise standard and that ain’t bad because the 206 was a nice little car and quite popular. Price in 2008 started at 86.800 yuan and ended at 108.800 yuan. Only one engine: a 1.6 with 106 hp and 142 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic.
