A Ford Mondeo sedan, seen at a car market in east Beijing on a hot summer day. The Mondeo is normally a rather mundane sedan but this one was not. It was wrapped in a shiny blue wrap and sexed up even further with darkened windows, wide tires, and 5-spoke alloy wheels.
The wrap was of high quality, it mirrored the market and all around. Interestingly, the artists decided to keep the small chrome strip under the windows. I would have wrapped it too.
The lowest part of the rear bumper was left unwrapped as well. A bit of a hurried job, perhaps. Too bad, as the wrap itself looks fantastic on the Ford Mondeo sedan.
The third-generation Ford Mondeo was made locally by Changan-Ford. In China, it was called the Ford Mondeo Zhisheng (致胜). This was done to differentiate the 3rd-gen Mondeo from the second-gen Mondeo, which continued alongside the new car, a common practice among Sino-foreign car-making joint ventures.
The Mondeo Zhisheng was made from 2007 until 2013. It was available with 2.0 and 2.3-liter petrol engines. The latter was the most common one, it had an output of 160 hp and 205 Nm. The engine was mated to a six-speed AMT.
The headlights were gigantic, which was common at the time. Sedans are popular in China so Ford still makes a Mondeo in China today:
With a fiery red color like this, it doesn’t need a wrap!
