This is a Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore LP 560-4, seen in 2013 in the showroom of the Volkswagen China headquarters in the Sanlitun area in Beijing. The Bilcolore stood on a small stage, all alone, looking super beautiful.
The Gallardo Bicolore was a special edition of the Lamborghini Gallardo. ‘Bilcolore’ means dual color, it featured a unique two-tone paint job with a black roof. Note the Audi S8 in the background.
The Gallardo Bicolore was manufactured from 2010 until 2012. It was available in orange, yellow, grey, white, or blue with a black roof and unique ‘Skorplus’ multispoke matte gray alloy wheels.
The Volkswagen China headquarters was in a relatively small office building right in the middle of the Sanlitin embassy and bar district in Beijing. I used to work nearby, and me and my colleagues often passed by the showroom on our way to lunch. Whenever I saw a new car, I would get inside and take some photos. There would be top-end Audis, Bentleys, and Lamborghinis. Initially, it was just a showroom. Later on, Volkswagen launched a small lunch room, accessible for all. It was a great place. Sadly, in the early 2020s, Volkswagen moved its China HQ to a new location at the northwestern section of the 3rd Ring Road.
The Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore LP 560-4 was powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine with an output of 557 hp and 540 Nm. The motor was mated to a 6-speed AMT sending all horses to the all four wheels. The supercar did 0-100 in 3.7 seconds and it had a top speed of 325 kilometers per hour.
In 2010, the Gallardo Bicolore LP 560-4 sold for 3.98 million yuan, which made it one of the most expensive mid-engined supercars of the time. When I researched the Bicolore Edition, it appeared to be all but forgotten by now, so I guess it won’t be a colletor’s item any time soon. Still, the cool factor of this kind of half-mad special-edition supercars is super high.
