About the Aito brand

The brand was founded in 2021. The name stands for “Adding Intelligence to Auto”. Aito is a brand under HIMA, an automotive subsidiary of Chinese tech giant Huawei. HIMA stands for: Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance. This company owns four car brands: Aito, Luxeed, Stelato, and Maextro. HIMA has outsourced production of the Aito brand to the Chinese carmaker Seres.
The Aito M7 launched in 2022. It is a mid-size SUV. The design is nice, albeit a little anonymous. The M7 has an aerodynamic body with hidden door handles and aero wheels.
Aito M7 – interior
The interior looks great, with leather seats and wood trim. It has a 15.6-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch driver’s display. The M7 is equipped with a Huawei ADS (the ADAS), Huawei Harmony OS (the operating system), and a Huawei Sound sound system with 19 speakers, including one atop the dashboard. The center tunnel has two wireless charging pads.
The Aito M7 is available with five or seven seats. The size of the M7 is: 5020/1945/1760, 2820.
Aito M7 – specifications
The M7 is a range-extender electric vehicle (EREV). Aito offers two variants:
- RWD: 112 kW 1.5 turbo range extender + 200 kW electric motor.
- AWD: 112 kW 1.5 turbo range extender + two electric motors (130 kW front/200 kW rear).
The Aito M7 features a 60-liter fuel tank. Aito provides two LFP battery options for each variant: 38.5 kWh or 42 kWh. The RWD model offers a maximum range of 1290 km (230 km in EV mode) and the AWD model delivers up to 1250 km (200 km in EV mode).
Price
The Aito M7 is reasonably priced. The base RWD model costs 249.800 yuan ($34.5K) and the top AWD model sells for 309.800 yuan ($42.7K).

The Aito M7 is a popular car in China. Aito sells about 14.000 units each month. It is the second-most popular Aito after the larger Aito M9 SUV, which has a length of 5.2 meters.
