Pagani Zonda F Is A Beautiful Italian Supercar In China

Pagani Zonda F

The Pagani Zonda F is one of the most beautiful Italian supercars ever. I met this rare machine in the FFF Automobile store in the Tuning Tribe area in Beijing in the early autumn of 2014. It looked absolutely stunning.

FFF Automobile was a famous supercar broker in Beijing in the 2010s. The Tuning Tribe area is an entire block of high-end car shops in east Beijing, one of my favorite car-spotting places in the capital.

Design

The Pagani Zonda F is a significantly upgraded version of the Pagani Zonda, named after Formula 1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio. It debuted in 2005. Pagani produced only 25 units, and at least two ended up in China. The car I encountered was painted in New York Pearl White.

The Zonda F had new light units with an integrated indicator light. It also had new fog lights and an extensive carbon fiber body kit. The kit included a low front lip, wide sidebars, and a giant wing on the back.

In 1991, Horacio Pagani founded Modena Design, a design and engineering company that later merged into Pagani Automobili. The company was revived in 2024, with a focus on composite materials.

The Zonda F had Pirelli Pilot Sport Tires with APP forged alloy/magnesium wheels with, 19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear. It has ventilated steel brake discs and red brake calipers with dual Pagani Brembo branding.

The rear is the best part of the Zonda F. There is so much going on. Triple round lights, four exhaust pipes in a circle, air vents, a diffuser, and that manic wing, based on an aluminum frame.

Specifications

The Zonda F has the famous 7.3-liter naturally spirated Mercedes-AMG V12, with an output of 602 hp and 750 Nm. The F was a relatively light car with a 1230 kg dry weight. It had a power-to-weight ratio of 2.04 kg/hp.

Note the Mercedes logo on the engine block. The top speed was 345 km/h, 0-100 took 3.6 seconds, and 0-200 only 9.8. It was one of the fastest cars in the world in 2005.

This F was on sale, second-hand, for a crazy 25 million yuan. That was $4.06 million in 2024 exchange rates! Such craziness was typical for that time. Prices of limited-edition supercars went through the roof. And why not? The Pagani Zonda F is surely worth every fen!
