Dodge Challanger With Mansory Wheels In China

Dodge Challenger

Here’s a Dodge Challenger seen in June 2021 by Friend of the Site Joachim in Suzhou, the largest city of Jiangsu Province. The big Dodge looked great. The color is Destroyer Gray, and that has to be one of the best color names ever.

Even better, it was fitted with gigantic multispoke Mansory-branded wheels, 24-inch fully forged. The wheels look great on the Challenger. I counted the spokes: 40! It has floating self-aligning wheel center caps, like on a Rolls-Royce.

The Dodge Challenger is an American muscle car. Dodge produced the third-generation modern-day Challenger from 2008 until 2023, in too many variants to count. The car in the photos is a post-2015 facelifted SXT model, with the updated grille and lights.

The engine

The engine of the Dodge Challenger SXT was a 3.6-liter V6, with an output of 305 hp and 363 Nm. It had an 8-speed automatic gearbox, sending all horses to the rear wheels. The Challenger SXT was a fast machine. It did 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 sec, 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 sec, and 0 to 160 km/h (100 mph) in 15.3 sec. Most important, as this is an American car, was the quarter mile time: 14.5 seconds. The license plate is of Jiangsu Province.

The Benda

The mighty Challenger with a big fat motorbike. The Benda BD300 Cruiser looks American but is Chinese,  powered by a 298cc liquid-cooled V-twin motor that makes 30 hp and 25.3 Nm. It has a six-speed gearbox. Benda still sells the bike, renamed to Chincilla 300.

Dodge did not officially sell the Challenger in China, but there was a lot of parallel import. In the far north of Beijing is a famous parallel-import market, selling giant American SUVs, pickup trucks, and muscle cars. The going price for the 2016 Challenger with the 3.6 liter engine was 440.000 yuan or $60.6K. A brand-new 2023 3.6 GT model costs 58.610 yuan, or $80.7K. The Chinese name of the Challenger is 挑战者, Tiǎozhànzhě, and that simply means ‘Challenger’.
