About China's Coolest Cars
A black Volkswagen Passat Lingyu 1.8T, seen on the side road of the Second Ring Road in Beijing. It had a very special 京C·H0000 four zero license plate, ultra rare so great to see one on the road.
The Volkswagen Passat Lingyu was made from 2005 until 2011 by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture. It was the successor of the B5 Volkswagen Passat.
The Passat Lingyu 1.8T model was powered by a 1.8 liter turbocharged petrol engine with an output of 163 hp and 220 Nm. Price started at 181.800 yuan.
A pink Mercedes-Benz C260 sedan, seen at a car shop in north Beijing in 2016. The Merc’ was wrapped in a shiny pink wrap, sucking all the sun out of that chilly spring day. The car was further sexed up with a black grille, darkened light visors, darkened windows, and shiny chrome mirrors.

A cool Polski Fiat 126P, seen in Beijing in 2016. The Fiat was painted in a shiny shade of pink and fitted with black wheels. The bumpers and mirrors were removed, and that actually looks pretty good, especially up front.
A sixth generation Honda Civic sedan, seen in Beijing in 2016. The little Honda sedan was a bit dusty but otherwise in a great shape, with the bright red paint looking great, and still fitted with the original gray wheel covers.

A big badass Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Super Crew pickup truck, seen in east Beijing in 2016. The Raptor was painted in white with black bumpers and black wheel arches, and a large black decal on the bonnet.

A super speedy Acura NSX, seen at a car repair shop in Shunyi District in Beijing in 2016. The good Acura was in a good overall condition but it looked a bit dirty and a bit tired, like it had been ignored for a time too long. Happily, mechanics were working on the car while I was there, so I guess it came back on the road again.

A pretty Brilliance Coupe sporty car, seen in Beijing back in 2015. The Coupe looked great in Ferrari red, and even better with the after-market WRC stickers. The multi-spoke alloys are factory original. The license plate is from Qinghai Province, some 1600 kilometers by road from the capital.

A Subaru Impreza WRX STi, seen on a car market in south Beijing. The speedy Japanese hatchback looked all the business; painted in Impreza blue and fitted with the almost obligatory gold multispoke alloy wheels. The enormous air inlet on the bonnet screams hardcore power.

A very speedy Ferrari GTB Fiorano, seen in Beijing in 2011. The good Ferrari seemed brand new and didn’t even have license plates yet. It was painted in a shiny shade of black with a matte gray roof and a silver racing stripe over the bonnet, roof, and rear.
