This is a Ferrari FF, seen in the Chinese capital Beijing, at the same shop where I met a McLaren 650S Spider. The great Italian supercar was a bit dirty, with dust covering the pretty Nero Daytona color scheme. It also had slightly tinted windows and the standard five-spoke gray alloy wheels.

This impressive machine is a Trumpchi M8 Master Hybrid MPV. It is large, larger than life, perhaps, and loaded with super shiny bling. The grille is enormous, mirroring the sun, with 10 vertical slats.

This is not some crazy Chinese concept car that somehow ended up in a parking lot. Nope. This is the Baojun KiWi EV, it is very much a production car and one of the wackiest Chinese cars ever. The design is mad, with super short overhangs, tiny wheels, the headlights immediately under the windshield, and bumpers that are fully integrated into the car’s lower body.

Here we have an Audi A4 Cabriolet 3.0, seen in the northeast of the Chinese capital Beijing. The drop-top Audi was in good shape, with a clean body and no signs of rust or rot. Here we have an Audi A6 sedan, seen on the road in the Chinese capital Beijing. The good Audi was incredibly dusty but otherwise in good shape. It was still being used, and the paint looked good. It had the original alloy wheels but the bub caps were missing.

A BYD D1, seen in Beijing in the summer of 2023, parked alongside the road and fitted with the Beijing city’s green NEV license plates. The BYD D1 is quite a special car. It is a purpose-built model for ride-hailing services, developed by BYD in cooperation with Chinese ride-hailing giant DiDi.
