A Flock Of Cool Supercars In Shanghai, China In 2014

In 2014, I visited two second-hand supercar shops along Wuzhong Road in Shanghai. This road is home to many car-related businesses, and one of the shops I visited is still around today. The shops sold all sorts of very expensive supercars.

The first car that I saw was an open-top Lamborghini.  It looked like a Murcielago SV from the outside, but there was a problem: Lamborghini only made the SV coupe, they never made an SV Roadster.

The BYD Seal Is A Cool Electric Sedan In The Rain In Beijing

This is a BYD Seal, one of China’s best-known electric sedans in the world. And for some good reason. The BYD Seal is a highly advanced electric vehicle that sells for a surprisingly low price. I saw this ‘Aurora White‘ example on a rainy summer day in south Beijing.

Chery Explorer 06 Is A Cool Chinese SUV With A Giant Grille

This is the Chery Explorer 06, as seen in the parking lot of a car market in Beijing. It had just been unveiled at the time, so I was surprised to see one out in the open that soon. It has an interesting design, with split headlights and an enormous black-gray grille with the CHERY name in capitals.

Fiat Ottimo Is A Chinese-Italian-American Hatchback In China

Dongfeng-Honda Ciimo M-NV Is A China-only Electric Honda XR-V

This is a Ciimo M-NV, a super rare Chinese electric car. The chance you see one of these in Beijing is way smaller than seeing a supercar. I met this one near a Mercedes-Benz dealer over the summer.

The Roewe 750 S Is A Stylish Chinese-British Sedan In China

This is a Roewe 750 S, seen on a parking lot in south Beijing in the summer of 2024. The good Roewe looked great for its years. It was painted in a classy dark blue with tinted windows and gray multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Lexus GS300 Is A Pretty Japanse Sedan In China

A pretty Lexus GS300, seen in the Chinese capital Beijing in 2016. The good Lexus looked great for its years. The dark black paint looked almost as new, and it was still fitted with the original gray six-spoke alloy wheels.

Jetta VS7 Is A Weird Chinese-German-Spanish Mix-up

This is a Jetta VS7, a mid-size crossover SUV that is only sold in China. It is a nice-looking car, but not overly exciting, perhaps a bit boring. The car that I met was painted in a color called (translated) Aromatherapy Ash.
