A Toyota Corolla DX sedan, seen in 2014 in the Chinese capital Beijing. The Japanese sedan appeared to be abandoned. The license plates were gone, and the poor car was covered in a thick layer of dust. But overall, it was in fine shape, painted white with the original gray wheel covers.

A beautiful Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan, seen in Beijing in May 2014. The compact German limousine was in great shape, black with darkened windows, and sitting on the original alloy wheels. Sadly, the Mercedes hood ornament was missing. But I didn’t care, because this old Benz had the oldest black license plate I had ever seen:

A Volvo S90 3.0 sedan, as seen in central Beijing in the winter of 2016. The big Volvo was in reasonable shape. It was dark blue, a classy color for any Volvo, with slightly tinted windows and the original alloy wheels.

This is a rare DS 5LS 60th Anniversary Limited Edition, seen in Beijing in 2017. It was a great looker, painted in Champagne Gold with darkened windows and black window frames. The DS 5LS was a China-only compact executive sedan, manufactured from 2014 to 2019 by the Changan-PSA joint venture.

An incredible Maserati GranTurismo Sport, as seen on a car market in Beijing on a very cold winter morning in December 2018. The Italian grand tourer looked brilliant in a dark shade of blue with tinted windows and fitted with beautiful five-spoke alloy wheels.

A Saab 9-5 sedan, seen in Beijing in 2012. The Swedish sedan was painted dark blue with gray five-spoke wheels. It appeared to be in good shape but it was very dusty and a little dirty. License plates are from Jilin Province.
A Senova X35 crossover, seen in Beijing in 2018. The X35 was in good shape and seemed well-maintained. It was painted white with a red interior. The black diplomatic license plates show that this car belongs to the Hungarian embassy.

This is a Beijing-Jeep Cherokee XJ City Special, seen in the Dongzhimen area in central Beijing in January 2012. The Jeep was a bit dusty but that was normal in the cold winters in the Chinese capital. The car was loaded to the max with factory accessories.
