A Porsche Cayenne Turbo SUV, seen in the great city of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province in 2014. The Porsche looked fantastic. It was painted in a rare factory color called Speed Yellow. It has darkened windows, a black roof, after-market sideboards, and black alloy wheels.

This is an ArcFox Alpha S, a full-electric Chinese sedan-coupe, or you could call it an SUV-coupe. ArcFox calls it a sedan. I met this light-gray Alpha S in Beijing on a rainy day in the summer of 2023.

This is a Geely Galaxy L7, a new Chinese plug-in hybrid SUV. It looks like an EV, with a seemingly closed grille. But the engine gets air via the slats in the lower bumper. The L7 was brand new, still without license plates. On the left side, you can see a temporary license plate behind the windshield. These are common on newly purchased cars when the owner waits for the real plates to arrive.

This is an XPeng G6, as seen in the Chinese capital Beijing in 2023. The good G6 looked brand new, painted in a bright orange shade that Xpeng calls “Melting Cloud Orange.” It surely melted all the gray and black cars parked around it.

Here we have a Toyota bZ3, seen after the rain in the summer of 2023 in Beijing. The bZ3 was as good as new and painted in a typical Toyota color: gray, with gray bumpers and gray wheels. Stay awake folks!

A pretty Honda Accord sedan, as seen in the Chinese capital Beijing back in 2014. The Honda was in fine shape. It was painted white, a relatively rare color for an Accord of this age in China. Most of them are black, some are silver, and very few are white.

A Toyota Corolla DX sedan, seen in 2014 in the Chinese capital Beijing. The Japanese sedan appeared to be abandoned. The license plates were gone, and the poor car was covered in a thick layer of dust. But overall, it was in fine shape, painted white with the original gray wheel covers.

A beautiful Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan, seen in Beijing in May 2014. The compact German limousine was in great shape, black with darkened windows, and sitting on the original alloy wheels. Sadly, the Mercedes hood ornament was missing. But I didn’t care, because this old Benz had the oldest black license plate I had ever seen:
