Here we have a Cadillac CTS, seen at the parking lot of a second-hand car market in the great city of Tai’an in Shandong Province in eastern China. The big American sedan was in fine shape, painted beige with darkened windows and still with the original alloy wheels.
This is a Cadillac SLS, seen in Beijing in 2019. The big Cadillac looked great, painted in black, as always, and fitted with the factory-original nine-spoke alloy wheels. The SLS was a China-only long-wheelbase luxury sedan.
A big Cadillac DeVille stretched limousine, seen in central Beijing in 2011. The limousine belonged to a nearby wedding business. The vehicle was parked nicely on the sidewalk, protected by a traffic cone.
A Cadillac CTS sedan, seen in 2013 in the great city of Shanghai by Friend of the Site San-Ano, thank you for the pictures! The good Cadillac is wrapped in a matte orange wrap and further dressed up with darkened rear windows. The front is full with dust and dirt, as if she had made a long ride earlier on.
An SUV so big your entire family can sit on the corners of the front bumper; that must be the Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum, and indeed it is. I met this big American land boat at an unofficial Cadillac repair shop in Beijing in 2020.
A Cadillac CTS 3.6 Coupe, seen in central Beijing in 2019. And what a car it is! Cadillacs of this era were all about in-your-face bling, and the CTS has a lot of that, with the enormous grille shining like the sun. This example has proper bling colors too: silver with darkened windows and fitted with big silver alloy wheels.
A Cadillac ATS-L, seen in China’s Hebei Province in the winter of 2019. The cool Cadillac was wrapped in a very tasty yellow wrap, and further sexed up with darkened windows, darkened head light visors, and dark gray wheels.
On that autumn day in 2012, in a small public park, not a parkinglot, I came across this interesting duo: a Cadillac Sedan DeVille stretched limousine and a W126 Mercedes-Benz S280 SEL.
Here we have a slightly modified sixth-generation Cadillac Sedan de Ville, seen in a residential compound somewhere in east Beijing in 2010. The Caddy was fitted with a set of ultra bling alloys, wide tires, and a fake 京A·00006 license plate.
A gigantic Cadillac Fleetwood stretched limousine, seen on a car market on the South Fourth Ring Road in Beijing in 2007. It was in perfect shape, with flag poles on the bumpers, just missing the hub caps.
The second generation Fleetwood was made from 1993 until 1996, powered by a fat 5.7 liter V8, good for a very decent 260hp and 450nm.
These limousines were actually officially offered by General Motors China in period. Most were sold to high-end hotels and some to the Chinese government. This particular car is a bit more special because of its pretty gray color scheme. All the others were black.
Most of these great American cars eventually ended up at wedding-car companies and such. Today, just a few survive.
