About China's Coolest Cars
This has to be one of the rarest cars in China I have ever seen. There are only a few dozen E46 BMW 3-Series coupes in the country. And, as far as I know, this is the only one in red with black license plates and with a manual gearbox! Yes, this sporty little Bimmer is rarer than most Ferraris. I saw it in Beijing back in 2016 and it looked brilliant.

A Toyota HiAce minivan, as seen on the streets of central Beijing in the summer of 2016. The good Toyota was in fine shape, albeit a bit dusty. It was painted dark blue with darkened windows and it still had all the original decals.

Let’s go back in time to 2003 when I visited the Changchun Auto Show in the great city of Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province. Changchun is also the hometown of First Auto Works (FAW) and its iconic Hongqi brand. So there was plenty of Hongqi to see. A Porsche 911 sports car, seen alongside the Liangmahe river in central Beijing in the winter of 2009. The Porsche was painted in dark blue, at least I think it was because the color was basically invisible because of the dust. It also had a cool matching license plate with the sequence 京C·K1911.

A Geely Merrie Uliou sedan, seen parked beside the road in central Beijing in 2004. The good Geely looked great in silver with the factory standard wheels. It seemed brand new and it probably was, as the Uliou sedan was made from 2003 until 2006.
