A Hongqi CA7180A2E, seen in 2011 in the Chinese capital Beijing. The Hongqi was in a great shape. Painted in black with slightly darkened windows and a gray license plate frame. These frames were a popular after-market accessory in the 2000’s.

And that day in 2011 I was on my way to elsewhere and found a Porsche display near the gates of Terminal 3 (T3) of the Beijing Capital International Airport in China. A typical departure area with boring shops and overpriced food. So seeing some Porsches was very good.

A Nissan Sunny sedan, seen in 2011 in the great city of Nanjing in China. The Sunny looked great in red with darkened windows. The grille and door handles are nice and shiny, and the factory wheels look sporty.

A classy MG7 sedan, seen in an old area of central Beijing back in 2011. The MG7 looked fantastic in purple with darkened windows and the factory-standard matte gray alloy wheels. The MG7 was a real Brit in China.
A Great Wall Voleex C10, seen in Beijing on a summer’s day. The Voleex C10 was in a great shape, painted in red-orange with sporty six-spoke wheels. The real eye catcher, however, is the famous grille with six shiny ‘teeth’.

Advertisement seen in a shop in the Sanlitun area in Beijing, frequently visited by foreigners. I saw it back in 2011 but the shop still exists today. A Chinese company offered a Roewe 750 for rent, describing the poor car as ‘British Old Fashion’. That must hurt! But it was not totally untrue.

A Kia Pride hatchback with black license plates, seen in the suburbs of Beijing. The China-made Pride was painted in light gold, a popular color in period. It was clearly still used and in reasonable shape for its age.
