About China's Coolest Cars
An early W124 Mercedes-Benz 280E with black license plates, seen at a small car repair area in north Beijing in 2016, not far from where I found a Volvo 960 sedan. The good Mercedes was in dire need of a good cleanup bit in a great overall shape, fitted with the ultra cool wheel covers that were especially designed for the W124.

A very pretty yet very dusty Volvo 960 sedan, seen at a small car repair shop in north Beijing in 2016. The good Volvo was dirty and dusty with partially deflated tires, but overall in a fine shape. License plates are of Sichuan Province, some 1800 kilometers by road. That’s like a super market run in a Volvo, is it not?
Here we have a pretty Longci Tricycle, a 3-wheel electric vehicle with five doors. It looks brilliantly cool in red-white two tone paint, with a bull bar, a sun roof, a roof rack, a shiny grille, and a large single windshield wiper.

A very cool Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 3.0L, seen in the Chinese capital Beijing in 2016. The Pajero Sport was in great shape, painted in a dark shade of green, with gray bumpers and wheel arches, and with the original alloy wheels.

A very pretty Changan-Ford Fiesta S sedan, seen in Beijing in 2016. The Fiesta was in a fantastic shape, with its paint as smooth as new and still standing on the original factory alloys. A pristine Toyota Camry XV20 sedan, seen in China’s capital Beijing in 2016. The Camry was in a very good shape for its years, painted in a clean shade of white and still standing on the original factory alloy wheels. License plate is an oldie, likely with the car from first registration.

A fine Daewoo Lanos SE sedan, seen in Beijing back in 2016. The ‘Woo was in a fine overall shape, with slightly faded paint, small dents and dusts, and fitted with the original five-spoke wheels. The license plate was as old as the car. The ‘Q’ means this was, and perhaps still is, a company owned car.

A Jaguar S-Type 3.0 sedan, seen in the far far east of Beijing in the spring of 2016, on a slightly polluted bit otherwise fine day. The Jag’ looked fantastic, painted in a dark green shade and fitted with the standard sporty five spoke alloys. When I looked at the vehicle I immediately noticed the enormous mirrors, and now, more than five years later, the mirrors catch my eye again. They are enormous indeed.
