A Fulu Junma tricycle, seen in the great city of Nandaihe in China in 2011. It was standing in front of a touristy place and was for hire as a taxi. It looked really cool in red with shiny mirrors and big headlights.

Beer On a Tricycle In China
Time to talk about my favorite subject of all times: beer. Here we have a motorized beer transporting tricycle, seen in June 2011 at a late night market in Beijing. The tricycle was loaded with crates of delicious Tsingtao Dayou (青岛 大优) beer. As you can see, the brand and the type of the beer were printed on the back side of the vehicle. Distribution at its best!
Tricycle Is Slightly Overloaded At Night In China
A slightly overloaded tricycle, seen at night in central Beijing by our good friend Lao Wei, thank you for the pictures! The dapper tricycle is loaded to the absolute max, about 4 meters up and 3 wide. Hope it doesn’t need to pass too many tunnels. Note the Beijing-Hyundai Elantra taxi in the background on the left.

Gold Fish On The Tricycle In China
A tricycle carrying fish pods filled with gold fish, seen in Nanjing in 2011. The golden creatures were sold for a few yuan each, depending on the fish’s size and relative rarity. Buyers carry their new pet home in a small plastic bag. They could also buy fish food.
Selling gold fish, and other small animals, off tricycles was very common in China until 2018 or so. Today these paddle pet shops are a rarity in the big cities but they are still common down country. The seller in Nanjing was on a popular spot doing good business, I remember seeing lots of kids buying, and some of his tanks were already empty when I took the picture.
Beer! No. 2
More beer! A Beijing-branded tricycle carrying empty bottles of Yanjing beer, standing in front of a neighborhood beer distribution point. The blue crates behind the trike are filled with new bottles of delicious Yanjing beer. The green crates are for Tsingtao beer but they too are filled with Yanjing bottles.
I saw this tricycle in the hutongs of central Beijing when Yanjing beer bottles still contained 0.645 liter of easy drinkable beer with an alcohol percentage of 3.6%. In my good old days I drunk a truck of the stuff each week. Sadly, most Chinese beer makers have since changed their bottle size to the internationally more acceptable 0.5 liter.
Back then many people in China still preferred to drink their beer at room-temperature instead of cooled. So at distribution points beer was mostly kept uncooled and out in the open. Cheers!

Relaxed Man!
A man takes a nap in his comfortable Shenghao electric tricycle. He almost has enough space to stretch out flat. Tricycles like this are very common in China. This particular example is a four-door two-bench four-seater.
It is well equipped with two sun roofs, a a luggage rack, a roof spoiler, a bull bar, a rear-bull bar, and racy stickers. Power, depending on configuration, ranges from 1 to 5 horsepower. Price of these so called lo-speed electric vehicles (LSEV) starts as low as 7000 yuan.
